Children
Osteopathy for children
Young children may develop physical complaints as their bodies grow and change.
Some children are particulary sensitive to stimuli from their enviroment, wich can lead to physical tension.
Additionally, children may experience discomfort or injuries while playing. Growth phases can also bring physical challenges.
“During a thorough physical examination, I assess where tension and restrictions in the body originate. I then use gentle, manual techniques to treat these areas. A carefull approach can make a significant difference in the healing process, and support the child’s natural development.”
“For very young children I never use manipulative techniques such as spinal manipulations.”
Common complaints and issues in children:

Some complaints highlighted…
Sleep problems in children
Children often experience sleep problems due to overstimulation and discomfort.
A child who is highly sensitive to external influences may enter a state of stress, making it difficult to relax and sleep well. This can lead to irritability, worsening the situation and creating a vicious circle.
Physical discomfort, such as stomach pain and headaches can also interfere with sleep.
“I will look for the underlying cause of these issues. Using gentle techniques, I release tension and restrictions, helping the body restore balance so the child can sleep better.”
Abdominal pain
Abdominal pain is common issue among children. It can be a response to stress, a reaction to certain foods, or even linked to a misalignment in the cervical spine.
“Through a thorough physical examination, I identify the underlying cause of the abdominal pain. Using gentle manual techniques, I relaese any restrictions, and if necessary, I provide dietary advice to support the child’s well-being.”
Headaches in Children
Headachesin children are often a response to stress. They can sometimes be accompanied by teeth grinding or jaw clenching, which may worsen the discomfort.
It is also common for headaches to occur alongside abdominal pain.
Additionally, a misalignment in the cervical spine can contribute to headaches.
“Through a thorough physical examination, I identify the underlying cause of the headache and use gentle manual techniques to relieve tension, restore balance, and support the child’s overall well-being.”
ADHD and Physical Complaints
Children with ADHD often experience physical discomfort. Tension en restrictions in the body can increase restlessness and make it even harder for them to concentrate.
“Through a thorough physical assessment, I identify and release areas of tension and restriction in the body. This helps children feel more at ease and feel more relaxed, enhances focus, and improves sleep quality.”
